Definition of Success in this Role
A successful Facility Attendant will bring a positive and energetic presence to the YDC, will understand that YDC staff must model appropriate and positive behavior to the youth in our facility, and will be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Description of Duties
The Facility Attendant’s primary responsibility is to provide general supervision of the Youth Development Center during the facility’s open hours. This includes ensuring that all visitors are properly identified and checked in, attending to any building needs that arise during the shift, and serving as the primary point of contact for people entering the building.
Shifts vary depending on The Youth Development Center Inc.’s hours and programmatic needs. Attendants report to the Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide customer service and general supervision of the Youth Development Center.

Greet and check-in all visitors to the facility. Maintain an accurate headcount of building occupants at all times.

Accept payments for open gym and open gym memberships.

Maintain equipment and supplies.

Enforce facility, equipment, and program rules, taking disciplinary action if necessary

Complete routine cleaning tasks such as refiling soaps, toilet paper, disinfection of surfaces, sweeping, and mopping.

Assist YDC staff with programmatic preparation and/or administrative support

Enforce facility, equipment, and program rules and regulations, taking appropriate disciplinary action with participants when necessary.

Administer first-aid, if necessary. Within one month from the date of hire, or as soon as can be scheduled, the Facility Attendant will attend a First Aid and CPR certification course, to be paid for by the YDC. Recertification is required every two years as a condition of ongoing employment.

Open and unlock facility if shift coincides with facility’s opening at the beginning of the day; close and lock the facility if shift coincides with the facility’s closure at the end of the day.

A knowledge of Spanish is preferred but not required.
